奈米表面科學與二維材料實驗室 Surface NanoScience and 2D Materials Laboratory

Welcome to our laboratory website. We study two-dimensional and quasi-1D materials, in either bulk, monolayer/bilayer forms. We specialize in using scanning probe microscopy and spectroscopy, and surface science techniques to examine new structures and phases, and establish structure-property correlations. We also collaborate with angle-resolved photoemission group, optics group, and ab-initio density functional theory groups to get a better understanding of the materials.

Research Areas

  • 2D transition-metal dichalcogenides, quasi-1D transition-metal trichalcogendies materials
  • Preparation of van der Waals heterostructures
  • Intercalated phase and defect structures in van der Waals (hetero-)structures
  • Scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy, new technique development (radio frequency reflectometry STM)
  • Surface growth, molecular beam epitaxy
  • Charge density waves (CDW)
